Deanna Norris

Co-Chair & Fishing Derby Coordinator

Deanna, a lifelong resident of Cambridge (Preston), Deanna is dedicated to her community. She is employed full-time by a family-run business and brings over two decades of volunteer experience to the committee, notably with the Kin Club of Cambridge Preston. Additionally, she has been an integral part of the Canada Day committee for a decade, though her involvement with events like the Fishing Derby spans nearly twenty years. Deanna is thrilled to serve as Co-Chair for 2024 alongside Heather, whose complementary skill set enhances their collaboration. Together, they are enthusiastic about contributing to this remarkable organization and are eager to unveil the exciting initiatives planned by the dedicated volunteers for the City of Cambridge.

Children's Area Coordinator

The Melissa Francis Team provides consistent effort and care with every client interaction and strives to create lasting relationships. They believe in making a difference in their clients’ lives and within their community. The Melissa Francis Team demonstrates a genuine love and enjoyment of the Waterloo Region, and Cambridge in particular, through their team-oriented community and volunteer work including their commitment as this year’s Children’s Area Coordinator!

Heather is a full-time Wedding & Event Coordinator and is in her 2nd year on the Cambridge Celebrates Canada Day Committee and is thrilled and honoured to be co-chair alongside Deanna Norris. Two generations putting their diverse skills & knowledge to work for the best community run event Cambridge has ever seen.

With three years of invaluable experience spearheading sponsorship for this event, she embodies a steadfast commitment to infusing diversity and inclusivity into the fabric of the Canadian celebration. Christa's unwavering dedication extends beyond mere coordination; she is driven by a profound desire to engage the entire community. Her mantra, "all are welcome," serves as a guiding principle, ensuring that every individual feels not only invited but embraced in the vibrant tapestry of this event.


Stephanie Garant

Web Admin & Social Media Manager

As the owner of SM Marketing & Management, Stephanie is an expert in web design, social media, content creation, and tech support. Her achievements include receiving the Marketing Excellence Award in 2021 and the Spirit of Cambridge Award in 2022 from the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce. Stephanie oversees the organization's social media presence and personally manages all direct messages on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. This year marks her second in charge of developing the Canada Day website, focusing on enhancing navigation and mobile responsiveness for improved accessibility.
