the celebration starts here
Meet the Team
Every year, a group of Volunteers from Cambridge and surrounding areas, get together to plan, organize and execute the largest single day event in the Region! Cambridge Celebrates Canada Day is fully funded by community support, donations and corporate sponsorship. And although we do receive an abundance of support from the City of Cambridge, the event runs independently.

The 2022 Cambridge Canada Day celebration
is brought to you by the following dedicated volunteers:

Ryan Marenger
(Committee Chair)
Ryan is in his 11th year on the committee, and is very passionate about the Canada Day celebrations in Cambridge. He has been a Volunteer at this event for over 20 years, in various capacities.
In his career, Ryan is a Tire & Wheel Fitment Specialist at Fountain Tire in Ayr, and is currently in the process of training to become an owner of his very own Fountain Tire store.
Aside from these two passions, he is active in the automotive club scene as the founder of RAM TRUCKZ LTD. and an administrator of Mopars of KW.

Rob Schwartzentruber (Entertainment Coordinator)
Rob, along with his business partner and fellow Entertainment Coordinator, Mike Ramsey, have been part of the live music industry throughout Ontario over the last 30 years. He’s previously been involved in performance, live sound, and as a Music Coordinator of live events throughout Ontario.
Their acoustic band had the honour of performing at the Canada Day Celebrations in Cambridge back in 2016, and he is very excited to be on the committee for this year’s celebration.
Rob works full time in sales and in his spare time is a vocalist, trained in Bel Canto technique with Brian Vollmer, guitarist, sound engineer, recording engineer, producer and is never far from a guitar or mix console.

Mike Ramsey
(Entertainment Coordinator)
As both an in studio and live performance player, Mike has been an active musician performing in the community and throughout Ontario since the mid 90's, often performing alongside his fellow committee entertainment coordinator Rob Schwartzentruber.
Since delivering an acoustic performance at the Canada Day Cambridge event in 2016, he is excited to be returning as part of the committee for the 2022 celebration.
Mike works full time in the transportation industry, but outside of his career much of his spare time is spent discovering new musical activities, projects and creative adventures.

Valeriia Kolesnitska
(Parade Coordinator)
Valeriia has been living in Cambridge almost three years, and is in love with this city and its vibes. That is why she is taking part in planning Canada Day celebration for our community.
"I believe it will be amazing experience and hope everyone will enjoy the result of our work!"

Christa Bailey
(Sponsorships & Marketing)
Christa came to Cambridge with an abundance of experience with some major festivals in Ontario. Arriving here to follow her grandchildren, Christa knew that to acquaint herself with her new community it would be important to volunteer. Working at Zaz Bistro has brought her closer to the citizens of Cambridge and experiencing the pandemic firsthand has shown her the strengths of Cambridgedians. "I look forward to getting my hands dirty and growing with the festival as we return to the park this year" Christa said.
