Come catch some fun at the

This year marks the 62nd Annual Canada Day Fishing “Carp” Derby, at Riverside Park in Cambridge (Preston).   Last year’s attendance topped 150, and we are hoping to double that this year.  But in doing so we require more prizes, as every participant that Register’s that morning will receive a prize for trying.  As we all know, sometimes Fish just aren’t very co-operative, and we want every child to walk away having had a great time.

This free activity is open to all children up to 16 yrs of age. The object is to reacquaint children with the local nature. We operate a catch & release activity while awarding the participants with prizes for their efforts no matter how big or small (or skunked).  We have categorized them in the past as longest, shortest, smallest, largest in weight as well as most unusual or rarest. .

This event kicks off the day at 8:00 AM inside our beautiful Riverside Park; contestants (once registered) cast their lines along the banks of one of our heritage rivers known as the Speed River.

This friendly, family event ends at 10am.

It's Carnival Time!

Once again, we will have Campbell Amusements on site providing fun for the whole family.
*While we provide activities and entertainment free to attendees, the carnival rides/games are run independently, therefore they do charge for their services (rides/games).
All other event and activities are provided free of charge compliments of the many Volunteers and Corporate supporters that make this day such a great success.
Beer Garden
Few concepts are as old as beer and fatherhood. Some might even say that throughout much of human history, they have been irrevocably linked (but that is a story for another time.) This story starts in 2009 in small town Ontario, with four hockey dads and their four hockey sons. Artist, entrepreneur, corporate exec and maverick, they gathered around a shared love of the handcrafted and a vision of producing high quality craft beers that could combine artistry and accessibility. Add a whole lot of time spent together in rinks and on soccer pitches, experimenting over stove tops, planting hops and touring microbreweries around the world, and slowly, things began to brew. That friendship, like our craft beers, is based on a simple formula: stand up 4 each other, stand up 4 something bigger than yourself and stand up 4 the antiquated notion that quality craft beer matters… and then be patient.

The Beer Garden will be open from 12pm - 10pm. Must be legal drinking age to gain entry.

Drink tickets remain unchanged for the 5th year at $5 per drink. Beer, Vodka Cooler & Motts Caesars available. (Subject to change)

Ticket sales end at 9pm, and all drinks must be consumed prior to closing at 10pm. Please drink responsibly.
